This core program supports the recruitment and retention of out-of-state licensed healthcare providers to relocate to WV to practice in the six featured communities of Ascend WV. These locations and communities have been rigorously vetted and tested to ensure retention of healthcare professionals when they move to West Virginia. These strategic locations are a key reason why Ascend WV’s remote worker retention rate is 96%.

ELIGIBILITY DETAILS
Ascend WV Healthcare is open to licensed healthcare professionals seeking to move to the Mountain State! Applicants must have a job offer from an approved healthcare entity in West Virginia, but have not yet moved. If you do not yet have a job offer in West Virginia, you can apply to the program and be conditionally accepted until you secure a job offer. PROGRAM COMPONENTS
Financial: Up to a $12,000 financial stipend. $6,000 financial stipend distributed across Year 1 – additional $6,000 in Year 2 if funding renews.
Job Matching: Support for job placement and matching to help you find your healthcare career in West Virginia.
Community Programming: Organized, instructional programming throughout the year to help you and your family build connections, learn about the state, and find purpose and belongingness.
Curated Group Experiences: Explorations around the state to learn culture and lifestyle intervention practices.
Gear Rentals: Free access to outdoor gear library (bikes, boats, tents, etc…) to explore local community.
Orientation Trip: Annual orientation to help you understand and appreciate WV culture.
Free Coworking Space Membership: Local community hub for work, study, and gathering.
Concierge Services: Access to members-only portal supporting relocation, access to a large Slack network to build your community, and direct access to a location coordinator you can rely on for relocation and community integration support.
